How Many Serums Is Too MuchHow To Choose The Perfect Serum

We have many ingredients that target pigmentation but they don't just target pigmentation, they have other properties.

For example, niacinamide will target pigmentation but it will also regulate oil production.  Vitamin C will target pigmentation but it's also anti-ageing.  Retinol will target pigmentation, ageing & acne but not everyone can use it, some skin types can't tolerate it.

So when choosing a serum consider what has caused the pigmentation to begin with & what other skin conditions you have.

For example, if your pigmentation is caused by sensitivity niacinamide is a good ingredient to have as it will target pigmentation & help repair the barrier which is often impaired in sensitive skin.  If your pigmentation is caused by acne, mandelic acid will be a good ingredient as it will clear the pores & target pigmentation at the same time.  If your pigmentation is caused by ageing, Vitamin C is a good ingredient as it will build collagen & repair any sun damage on the skin while treating pigmentation.

How Many serums is too much?

If you have multiple skin concerns it can be tempting to want to use a lot of serums as treatments for your concerns but don't.

The maximum amount of serums you should have in your skincare routine is three, minimum is one.  If you use more than three serums at a time, you run the risk of irritating & sensitizing your skin.  Sensitivity & irritation will just lead to more pigmentation

It's really important to understand that a simple skincare routine is the best.  Overstimulating your skin with a lot of actives always leads to irritation
