A setback can be very frustrating and discouraging as you've worked very hard to make sure that your skin is clear and glowing then your acne or pigmentation comes back.  There are 3 steps to get over a skincare setback

The first step is Acceptance

Accept the fact that you are having a setback right now.

You will be tempted to find a quick fix or change up your skincare routine, but don't do that, there isn't a quick solution when it comes to skincare.  Chances are that your desperation will lead to you making mistakes and making things worse.

Take a deep breath, pause and accept the fact that you are having a setback and may need to start all over again.  It's ok to feel sad, it's ok to cry, this is your face and it's important to you.  So feel your feelings and allow yourself to know that you're not being ridiculous.

The second step is to Adjust

Something has caused your skin to suddenly change, something has caused the acne or the pigmentation to come back.  Figure that out first.  Have you run out of a product?  Have you added a new product?  Are you under a lot of stress currently? Have you started using a new hair product?

Figure out what the trigger has been and take steps to remove it if possible

If your skin has suddenly become sensitive you may have to adjust your skincare routine so that it's much simpler, if your acne is pretty inflamed, you may have to adjust your skincare routine again.

So make the necessary adjustments whether it be to your lifestyle or skin so that your skin can start healing.

Step three is Advance

Advancing means carrying on.

After making the necessary adjustments you have to go back to your skincare routine and be consistent.  Get back to the same skincare routine that cleared your acne before, the same skincare routine that cleared your pigmentation before and stick to it.

Remember that you cleared your skin before, you can do it again
