Hi There
Today we’re discussing how to reduce your pores!!
We’re going to first go over the 3 main contributors to pore size and then find solutions to them.
Oily Skin
Oily skin is the first main contributor to pore size.
Oily skin is a skin type and it cannot be changed as it's genetic. It's typically characterized by, you guessed it, lots of oil on your skin. If you have oily skin you'll know, you cannot miss it.
The sebaceous glands of this skin type produce a lot of oil and it ends up entering the pores. The pores will then appear to be larger as they're filled with oil
The simple solution to this is to reduce oil production in this skin type. This can be done by using products with ingredients that manage how much oil your sebaceous glands are producing.
Ageing Skin
Ageing is a skin condition that can start from the age of 25. Typically we start losing collagen in our skin from the age of 30 but environmental factors & lifestyle can cause premature ageing
The walls of the pores are made from collagen and as we lose collagen in our skin, they start to collapse. This makes your pores look larger.
The simple fix for this is to increase collagen production in the skin. This can be done through your skincare routine or by taking a collagen supplement
Genetics
Genetics do play a role in pore size. If oily skin and ageing are not contributing to your large pores, then they could just be genetic.
There is honestly nothing that can be done about this but to accept your skin for what it is.
Remember that healthy normal skin is supposed to have texture and pores. Pores are your hair follicles, so they play an essential role in your skin.
If they really bother you then the next best thing is a primer that blurs pores or to apply makeup to minimize their appearance.
