Clear Skin - Cleanse
Cleansing is often overlooked & people spend little time on it. Cleansing can make or break your skin.
You should spend a minute cleansing your skin before rinsing. You should cleanse your skin with a soap-free cleanser, that is suitable for your skin type.
There are certain ingredients you should look out for & practices you should avoid when cleansing. Go here to find out what the 7 cleansing mistakes are.
Clear Skin - Exfoliate
Exfoliation is essential in a skincare routine for clear skin. It prevents new blemishes from occurring & it lightens & removes existing pigmentation.
A granular exfoliator is not advisable as it can cause micro-tears & lead to inflammation & sensitivity. Sensitivity will lead to blemishes & more pigmentation. A chemical or enzymatic exfoliator is much better & effective.
Lactic acid & mandelic acid are great are exfoliating & brightening pigmentation
Clear Skin - Treatment
If you want clear skin, you have to add a treatment treatment to clear the skin.
Alpha arbutin, kojic acid, tranexamic acid & lactic acid are great ingredients to brighten the skin & clear it up. These are normally found in serums, so include a serum containing a mix of these ingredients in your skincare routine.
Clear Skin - Moisturise
Hydration from moisturising helps to keep the skin healthy & supple. Healthy skin will function optimally & will stay clear.
You can double your hydration in the evening by applying an oil to seal the moisture from the moisturiser.
Clear Skin - Sunscreen
Sunscreen will prevent any pigmentation from the sun. It will prevent dehydration and premature ageing.
It is important to apply sunscreen daily, even if you aren't outside. Apply the sunscreen as the last step in your routine after your moisturiser
